The Metacom Armchair cuts a beautiful silhouette and is as layered with details as it is with meaning. Designed in collaboration with Hawaiian designer, Andrew Mau, the Metacom imagines a modern-day Chinese Horseshoe chair as built by a Windsor chairmaker. Each element is subtly arranged to create a carefully refined profile. Spindles swell in the center and thin to their bare minimum where they pierce the back rest. A unique arrangement of stretchers brace the legs in a box pattern reminiscent of Chinese wood screens. Carved hand holds, crisp turnings, and a finely molded edge detail are a few of the special small moments that define this singular windsor chair.
Use it as an accent piece or in a grand dining space. When ordered in maple, there is an additional incised ring detail on the legs and armposts, see pics for details
